Dr. John Ackerman, an expert on youth suicide prevention who was not involved in Instagram's alert feature, told Mashable that it appeared to be carefully considered. Instagram said it relied on feedback from a group of experts it assembled on suicide and self-harm. (Instagram does not publicize the members of its advisory group.)
The Penn-Wharton model found in a preliminary analysis that AI could reduce deficits by $400 billion by 2035. But the Congressional Budget Office framed AI and associated investment as wild cards in determining the U.S. fiscal and economic outlook. While the CBO projects AI will enhance total productivity by 1% in the next decade, its most recent budget report conceded that this prediction was “highly uncertain.” If adoption is slow or costs higher than anticipated, it would significantly alter GDP growth and, consequently, government revenue.
In his State of the Union address this week, Trump alleged that Iran posed a direct threat to the US and that the country was “working to build missiles that will soon reach the United States of America”. But that claim has not been backed up with evidence by the White House or the Pentagon, and US intelligence reports from just last year say that it would take Iran 10 years to develop an intercontinental ballistic missile that could reach the US.
